Reduce the risk of falls and make Housekeeping’s job easier with the Kindred Bedside Cabinet with Self-locking Caster System.
The Self-locking Caster System is a proprietary design from Stance. You could call this Kindred table– the Unlock ‘N’ Roll Bedside Cabinet. Lift one or both levers on either side of the cabinet to lower hidden casters to the floor. Then, simply push or pull the cabinet to reposition it. Release the levers and the cabinet is locked in place, automatically.
This innovative product increases patient-room safety and caregiver efficiency. The self-locking casters default to the locked position when both levers are released. So, that eliminates the potential for one or more casters to be left unlocked by mistake. It also removes the need for caregivers to kneel and lock or unlock casters one at a time. And Housekeeping can move the cabinet easily and independently to clean the area under and behind the cabinet.
The Self-locking Caster System is an option available in selected case goods collections from Stance.

Solid surface material is an attractive, contemporary surface that can be specified in a wide range of colors, designs and configurations. It looks great, but it also possesses qualities that make it a natural for healthcare furniture. Stance offers solid surface as a finish option for selected table tops, overbed tables, chair arm caps and countertops for modular cabinetry.
Sanitary, hard-wearing and versatile, solid surface material is made for healthcare. And it’s all about the composition. Solid surface material is composed of acrylic resins and alumina trihydrate. So, it’s non-porous and seamless, which means it inhibits bacteria traps and promotes sanitary conditions.
Next, the material is stain-, impact- and heat-resistant. So, it’s well-suited to high-traffic, 24/7 environments. And because of the composition of the surface it can be repaired and restored to its original condition, if necessary.
And it’s versatile. The material has been formed as a surface for a surprising (and creative) array of furniture components and architectural spaces. Look for the solid surface option from Stance on selected freestanding and connecting table tops, overbed tables, chair arm caps for many seating lines and countertops for Matrix, our new modular cabinetry.

Combining the qualities of durability, safety and clean-ability has made Stance a leader in the behavioral health furniture category. And the broad range of BH-specific products we offer has made Stance top-of-mind among dealers, designers and end-users.
Now, we’re adding to our BH collection by integrating a new suite of products called Fusion.
Fusion Suite of Behavioral Health Furniture
Fusion is patient room furniture designed with rotationally molded technology for maximum durability. Each component is molded into one continuous, seamless piece of high-impact polyethylene to sustain a consistency of strength. No steel or wood is used. For safety, all pieces can be bolted to the floor or wall via concealed pilot holes. And the Fusion bed riser can be weighed-down on-site by adding sand through a ballast door. Fusion is CAL-133 compliant, stain-resistant and easy to clean. And it’s available in a range of colors.
The Fusion Suite of Behavioral Health Furniture brings together:
- Beds with or without storage plus optional Riser and restraint hardware
- Mattress with sealed seams and integral pillow
- Night Stand and Open Chest
- Wall-Mounted Desk and Floor-Mounted Stool
- Tamper-resistant fasteners

The Verity Lounge Collection is contemporary lounge seating for high-traffic, public spaces. Verity launched on 20 August, and it joins Attessa, Riviera and Cassia as Stance’s fourth line of lounge seating.
Verity Lounge Collection from Stance Healthcare
The collection consists of one-, two- and three-seat units. Rounded corners, wide arm rest and ample seating area contribute to the pleasing lines and sustaining comfort of the Verity line. The seat and back foam is generously padded, while the design promotes good posture and blood circulation in a seated position. And Verity offers a concealed clean-out space between seat and back which allows for easy clean-up without compromising style or comfort. Options include a choice of wood, polyurethane and solid surface arm caps and locking casters for the single chair. The standard tapered wood legs and optional wood arm caps are available in our seven standard wood finishes.

Stance is now serving dinner for 5 with the addition of 3 new dining chairs, last week. The Ainsley, Taylor and Dorset models have taken a seat at the table with our Champlain and Noble dining chairs.
Ainsley, Taylor and Dorset Dining Chairs with Champlain and Noble
Each chair is constructed of kiln-dried European Beech hardwood and can be specified in our 7 standard finishes. These handsome and sturdy chairs feature mortise and tenon joints (no dowels) reinforced with 18-gauge nails and low root woodscrews.
The seats are field-replaceable, and seat and back foam meets the CAL 117-2013 flammability standard.
The newly expanded selection of new dining seating and our fixed- and adjustable-height tables form the Stance Dining Collection.

In July, Stance launched Legend Seating for Behavioral Health. The collection is designed for the most challenging, intensive-use healthcare environments and offers safety and durability in an attractive design.
The BH version differs from the original Legend line of metal-frame seating in various ways. A sled base is standard. Weight is added to inhibit handling. The chair and matching tables are assembled with tamper-resistant fasteners, including the optional and field-replaceable polyurethane arms. And the freestanding square and rectangular tables have rounded edges to reduce risk of injury.
Like the Legend line for acute care, the BH version can be specified with open or closed arms and seat widths of 21″, 24″ and 31″. The fully-welded steel frame adds strength, durability and eliminates fasteners. It features a wall-saver rear leg design and ample clean-out space between seat and back.

This week, Stance launched the behavioral health configuration of the Cassia Lounge Seating Collection. It’s a heavy-duty version of the handsome, contemporary collection of lounge seating and matching tables we introduced in January. Like the original, the Collection consists of 1- 2- and 3-seaters and matching tables.
Cassia Lounge Seating for Behavioral Health
As behavioral health seating, it’s durable and safe. But it’s also comfortable, contemporary and a pleasure to sit in.
The durability is derived from modular components which are 14ga. steel and engineered plywood. The safety features include hidden, tamper proof fasteners. A steel plate is bolted to the seat pan to add weight and hide fasteners. And Cassia is designed with an innovative, concealed clean-out feature so objects can’t be hidden and dirt won’t be trapped between the seat and back.
Designers can specify contrasting fabrics, custom finishes, choice of arm cap styles and laminate or solid surface table tops.

Oasis Recliner with swing-up arm
Introducing the innovative Swing-Up Arm for the Oasis Recliner – a new solution for patient transfer.
Ease of Operation and Patient Transfer
Button releases swing-up arm
The new, easy-to-use Swing-Up Arm for the Oasis Recliner was developed by Stance in consultation with clinicians. A button releases the arm of the recliner, which swings-up and out of the way on a pneumatic spring. With the arm raised, the seat and the side of the chair are level. So, the transfer distance and effort required is reduced, in comparison to traditional solutions such as drop-in, drop-down and swing-away arms. With the patient seated in the recliner, give the arm a slight push and the pneumatic spring lowers it to the resting position, in a controlled motion.

Convenient, Safe and Infection-Resistant
There are several advantages to this method of patient transfer. Convenience: the Swing-Up Arm remains connected to the chair, at all times. Safety: the inner workings and moving parts of the chair remain concealed. Infection-resistance: there are no exposed hinges or receptacles to be cleaned.
That’s why the move is on to the Oasis Recliner with Swing-Up Arm, from Stance Healthcare.

You are present at the birth of a Legend. This month, the collection known as Legend has taken its rightful place as our fifth line of metal-framed seating.
The name Legend is destined to be writ large in the annals of healthcare metal seating. It shall be renowned, far and wide, as a durable and affordable option for acute care facilities of any budget.
For it bears the Stance Symbol of Strength, an emblem signifying a level of durability that surpasses the demands of the 24/7 healthcare environment. And it performs this heroic feat at a price-point that falls between our entry level chair [Accent] and the next in the line of succession [Integrity].
Tales will be told of Legend’s simple, attractive frame design, which is fully-welded to eliminate the need for fasteners that can loosen, over time.
Songs will be sung of the richness of its many features and options, such as
- 21”, 24”and 31” seat widths
- open or closed arms
- wood or polyurethane arms
- wall-saver rear leg
- hardy ganging bracket and
- a range of complementary tables, freestanding or connected.
But Legend shall also be celebrated in the chronicles of behavioral health, for it is available in a heavy-duty version. Let it be known that the HD Legend features a sled-base design, added weight, tamper-proof fasteners, non-removable arm caps, and the design eliminates areas of concealment.
Henceforward, it shall be proclaimed by all who venture forth from this site – the healthcare metal seating line known as Legend has been launched and more can be learned by clicking here.
