Marmoleum Surfaces in Healthcare Environments
In a healthcare environment, finishes play a crucial role in the design of a space. They impact everything from safety and cleanability to aesthetics and comfort. At Stance, we are proud to be at the forefront of innovation by applying Marmoleum, traditionally used as flooring, as a finish for furniture in healthcare and Behavioral Health settings.
ABOUT MARMOLEUM - Marmoleum is made from natural materials and offers a multitude of benefits that make it an ideal choice for healthcare environments. Not only does its aesthetic appeal enhances the visual comfort of a space, creating a welcoming and calming atmosphere for patients and staff alike, but it’s extremely durable, promotes well-being, is easy to clean, and sustainable.
Here are some of the key benefits of Marmoleum - Durability Originally designed as a flooring solution to withstand heavy foot traffic, Marmoleum is more than capable of enduring the kicking and bumping that furniture faces in high-traffic healthcare spaces. It’s also resistant to water, stains, scuffs, and scratches, ensuring it looks better for longer.
Well-Being Marmoleum is designed to enhance well-being by contributing to a safe, hygienic, and comfortable environment. Its woodgrain finish supports biophilic design, connecting patients, families, and caregivers with nature. Additionally, its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria makes it easy to clean and contributes to a healthier and more hygienic environment. It’s also allergy-friendly and can help reduce dust mites and other allergens.
Sustainability Marmoleum is composed of up to 98% natural raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour, limestone, rosin and jute and is PVC free. Marmoleum is unique as it has CO2 uptake in the product itself. The photosynthesis of the biobased materials used in Marmoleum provides CO2 uptake that exceeds the CO2 emissions caused by transportation and production processing. Therefore, Marmoleum is climate positive (or carbon negative) from cradle to gate, without offsetting. It’s also recyclable, further reducing its environmental impact.
Marmoluem checks all the boxes - Durability: Resistant to water, stains, scuffs, and scratches.
