In our series unpacking the endless application opportunities that come with partnering with Stance, today we’re focusing on the patient room – as the only healthcare furniture manufacturer with the product selection to fully furnish any room in a hospital.

In the United States it is estimated that in-patient hospital stays last an average of 5.5 days. These patients, and the loved ones who visit them, spend most of that time in the patient room. Primarily used for rest, monitoring, and recovery, these rooms play an important role in the patient’s overall healthcare experience.

The patient room’s ability to deliver the privacy, cleanliness, accessibility, and comfort patients desire are key factors contributing to this experience – positive or negative. For example, patients benefit from a room that allows for personal space; is easy-to-clean for caregivers and prioritizes smooth surfaces rather than nooks-and-crannies; is seamless to navigate when changing positions or accessing the restroom; and perhaps above all, encourages recovery through comforting furniture, tones, lighting, and textures. Casegoods

Safe and easy storage options can support both patients and care providers in a patient room. Our 2026 new release, Camber, offers sleek, convenient storage in multiple bedside table and wardrobe sizes. All cabinets feature ¾” backs in matching laminate, fully radiused and seamless tops and fronts, and steel drawer boxes for increased durability. Options for this modern collection include a solid surface top, black or brushed nickel pulls, and choice of single-finish or two-tone in white or grey for its Thermofoil front. 

Overbed Tables

The overbed table is a staple in the patient room, and when designed and space-planned appropriately, it can enhance the patient’s in-room recovery experience. Our Olsen overbed table is an attractive, highly functional product featuring smooth and quiet height adjustability that can be positioned infinitely between 28” and 45” high. Additionally, Olsen offers an optional flip-up extension that provides an additional 10” of surface area.

Patient Seating

In addition to the bed in a patient bed, seating plays a significant role to support not only patients, but the loved ones who visit a patient room. Our Integrity high-back seating exemplifies how Stance over-engineers to over-deliver on an end-user experience – putting comfort first, for any length of sit. For care providers, including facility maintenance professionals, Integrity anticipates cleanability needs with features like an arm-leg connection to eliminate bacteria trap and a clean-out space between seat and back. Integrity’s mobility option also enables caregivers to easily move it around the room or from room to room.

Sleepover Seating

More than perhaps any other product in a patient room, the sleepover options invite the most feedback from end-users. Many loved ones have both positive and negative responses to the quality of rest they received on these products during an overnight stay to support a patient.
